Pentecost

Announcements for the

Week of 05/18/2026

Pentacost 1
2 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

Before You Come to the Church

During the week, please check the church calendar prior to coming to the church. We have other groups using our facilities.

Community Service and Outreach

Nothing New This Week.
But Keep Watching!!

Ministering to Children

We encourage children who are 8-9 or older to remain in the service. But we have small ones who need looking after and encouraging in the Lord. It has been primarily Sharon and Catherine Daniels (with thanks to Barbara Mathews, Mary Roberts, and Linda Bory for helping) in the Activity Room. We require two people to be with them; one must be a woman. Please sign up so that we can spread out the effort. Thanks for considering this ministry. We’d like enough so that we can rotate every 5 weeks or more—signup sheet on the table.

Greeters
We now have a signup sheet for people to be greeters at the door. Please see the sheet on the table in the Narthex. Or see Frederick Rabeler.  Greeters are important: they are the first face visitors see. Visitor cards are more consistently handed out by Greeters, giving us a record of attendance and a means for sending an acknowledgement.  You can sign up as available or on a consistent basis. Or, you may be Volunteered at the last moment.

Acolytes
Did you know that Adults can be Acolytes? Maybe you were one as a teen and would like to give it another shot, knowing what you know now and didn’t then. If you are interested in learning about service as an Acolyte, please tell either Deacon Frances or Catherine Daniels. They will be starting a class after Pentecost.

About Us

We are a local New Bern church with a desire to know, serve and worship God. We welcome all to join us every week for worship. In our liturgy, we encounter the Risen Lord Jesus Christ as He is made known to us in the Scriptures and Holy Communion.
If you’re looking for a church that is different: one that focuses on the reading, study, and authority of Scripture, one that worships in a reverential manner, one that believes in prayer and where prayer is a focus, then we are that Church. Come and see.
“As for me and my house, we
will serve the Lord.”
—Joshua 24:15

We believe in historic Christianity as revealed in the Scriptures and summarized in the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed, and the Thirty-Nine Articles.

Grace Anglican Church is a loving, welcoming, and supportive church that treats you like family the moment you walk through our blue doors.

WHAT IS
ANGLICANISM?

Anglicanism is a Christian tradition born out of the Protestant Reformation in England in the 16th century. It continues to shape our beliefs, lives and worship today. We are a global, Spirit-filled Christian church committed to the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
